MIND Modules

Music organisations in France, Slovenia and Germany will welcome you during three non-consecutive weeks  of workshops, classes and public events – all designed to improve your craft and discover the local community.

Each of these weeks will focus on one of the three pillars of MIND:

- Community building
- Craftsmanship
- Your final project

Module 1 - Community building
Slovenj Gradec, Slovenia

Birthplace of Hugo Wolf
14th - 20th July 2025

A week in the birthplace of Hugo Wolf.

The first module of MIND – Music Inspires New Directions – Lied Academy will take place in July 2025 in Slovenj Gradec, Slovenia. The masterclasses and group sessions will be held at the city’s Music School (Glasbena šola Slovenj Gradec) and Hugo Wolf's home.

The eighteen participants from France, Slovenia, and Germany will begin to build a MIND community. Each duo will present their project ideas and begin developing a business canvas – a strategic plan to guide the realisation of their project. Through various trainings and workshops, participants will enhance their creativity, while receiving guidance on the interpretation of art song repertoire from pianist Nejc Lavrenčič and mezzo-soprano Mojca Vedernjak.

The academy will culminate in a final concert at the concert hall of Hugo Wolf’s birthplace.

In addition to your project repertoire, you are welcome to bring songs by Hugo Wolf and Slovenian composers.

Module 2 - Craftsmanship
Perleberg, Germany

Lied at Lotte Lehmann’s Birthplace
9th - 15th February 2026

In the historic birthplace of soprano Lotte Lehmann, this intensive week will offer students a unique opportunity to deepen their craft in song interpretation. Participants will continue to work on building group cohesion and focus on their individual projects. As the second of three weeks in the MIND program, the Perleberg residency combines high-quality instruction with a rich environment for artistic growth.

Participants will work closely with esteemed faculty members Doriana Tchakarova and Johannes Held, focusing on the technical and interpretative skills essential for art song performance, with a particular emphasis on German repertoire.

Adding to the experience, several concerts are planned in Perleberg, allowing students to share their artistry with the community. Guest lecturers will also join the program, offering career insights and guidance to help participants chart their professional paths.

Mentors

MIND Mentors

Juliette de Massy, soprano
Ateliers Misuk

Juliette de Massy began her training with Maurice Bourbon in Lozère then at the CNR in Lille. Then graduating from the Guildhall School of Music in London in opera singing (winner of a Young Talent scholarship from the AnBer Foundation), she had the opportunity to work with artists who had a great impact on her such as Susan Mc Culloch, Udo Reinemann , Tom Krause and Guy Flechter. Juliette also has a degree in early music singing from the Pôle Aliénor – Tours/Poitiers and a concert diploma from the Brussels Conservatory for lied and melody.
She is a soloist in several baroque ensembles such as Hemiolia, the Concert d'Astrée, Les demoiselles de St Cyr and is invited to sing at the Jeunes Talents festival in Paris, at the Folle Cadeau de Nantes, at the Présences festival on Radio France, at the Opera of Tours, Bordeaux, Marseille, Lille...

Passionate about literature and more intimate repertoires, Juliette is a highly sought-after partner in chamber music and develops strong bonds with musicians like the accordionist Bogdan Nesterenko (with whom they recorded a Bach album released in 2014), the cellists Rohan de Saram and Laure Balteaux or the pianists Emmanuel Olivier, Nejc Lavrencic, Alain Villard or Marino Formenti.

Juliette is also involved in promoting today's repertoires. She continually explores gesture, dance, improvisation, sound and voice. She works with several ensembles specialising in contemporary music, notably the Offrandes ensemble and the Links ensemble.

It is this desire to “research” and create bridges that leads Juliette to develop connections between music and other disciplines, notably theatre and contemporary dance. She is now very active in this field and works as a singer or vocal coach with artists from various backgrounds: Le Singe (Sylvain Creuzevault), Hors champ (Pascale Nandillon and Frédéric Tétart), La brêche (Lorraine de Sagazan) , Vita Nova (Lazarus).

Her passion for voice, musical construction, fine interpretation of scores and texts brings naturally Juliette to the role of musical director. In 2016, she took over the direction of Métamorphoses, for the last four discs of the complete Josquin des Prez. Drawing on this experience, she created LA GRANDE GARABAGNE in 2021 a vocal and instrumental ensemble working on innovative projects linked to landscapes.

In 2016, in a desire for independence, she created Les Ateliers Misuk, which she co-directs with Nina Lainville.  This ensemble of musicians, actors, dancers, circus performers explores questions of transversality and interdisciplinary practices with the idea of diversifying practices and bringing out a new dynamic of artistic creation.
